“…For my money 1980’s Never For Ever is still [Kate] Bush’s most compelling listen. Why? Because it represents the moment a great artist realized her full potential…”
I recently wrote a retrospective on Kate Bush’s Never For Ever – one of my favourite albums of all time – for the good folks at Under The Deer. Check it out!
This is probably my favourite episode of Sequelisers so far. Superman III is a movie that I remember not liking, even as an eight year old.
(Controversial opinion: I actually prefer Superman IV, and not just for the Milton Keynes connection…)
Anyway, I hope you enjoy listening to this one as much as we enjoyed making it!
Sequelisers Season 2, Episode 4 is live! In this episode we’re fixing The Matrix Reloaded – possibly the most requested film from listeners of the show. It’s one of my favourites we’ve done so far, partly because Ashens went so downbeat with our pitch ending that it literally stunned the room into silence. If that doesn’t make you want to check it out, I don’t know what will!
I’ve seen Metallica eight-or-nine times in the past decade-and-a-half. Tuesday’s performance at The O2 might just have been the best. Live premiere of “Spit Out the Bone” was awesome, the sound was pummelling and the band were on INCENDIARY form. Check out my review of the show for Ultimate-Guitar.com.
I recently got to shoot the shit with blues guitar prodigy Jared James Nichols for Ultimate Guitar. Jared’s one of my favourite up-and-coming artists at the moment and his new album, Black Magic is an absolute beast. I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
I’m very happy to announce that Monster City are playing at this year’s Day of the Dead Festival at Gringo’s Mexican Tequila Bar in Norwich on October 27th.
Tickets are selling fast, but we’ve still got a handful available, so drop me a message if you’re after one.
You can find more details about the show here.
The second episode of Sequelisers – the podcast about fixing bad sequels to good movies – is now available. In this edition, we’re tackling the travesty that was Mulan II and seeing what we can do to fix it!
